President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday held talks with Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
Uhuru is out of the country for three days on official duties.
The talks between Uhuru and Abe revolved around unveiling of Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Dongo Kundu and Universal Health Coverage (UHC) programme.
The commander in chief of the armed forces held the talks with Abe on the sidelines of sidelines of the ongoing TICAD 7 conference in Yokohama, Japan.
Abe said that the Japanese government is ready to continue supporting the nation of Kenyan in matters of development as Uhuru seeks to leave behind a legacy when he completes his second and final term in power.
The Japanese government pledged to support the UHC through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) programme. Uhuru, who has promised to initiate more projects before he retires, lauded Abe for hosting the forum.
He said that the new development will transform the member’s nations if the changes are embraced in the long run.
Kenya and Japan continue to share cordial ties for years. The government plans to fast track the unveiling of the SEZ in a bid to empower different parties within the country.
The SEZ is expected to benefit more than 3 million persons once it is complete.
