Former Gor Mahia striker Dennis Oliech is considering a controversial switch to AFC Leopards.
The former Nantes, Ajaccio and Auxerre striker is ready to follow in the footsteps of John ‘Zangi’ Okello, Paul Ochieng, George Sunguti, Joseph Atitwa and current Leopards chairman Dan Shikanda in crossing over to the rival side of the 'Mashemeji derby'.
These moves are always frowned upon especially if players involved are great talents.
Oliech has threatened to move to court to demand his full pay besides being open to joining Ingwe.
However, K'Ogalo via its Chief Executive Officer Lordvick Aduda maintains that the termination is without pay based on Oliech's alleged indiscipline.
“I have told the club treasurer that incase I write to them, I will be doing so as a former Gor Mahia player. I will be demanding my full pay for one year, including my signing on fee. After that, I will get another club. There are a lot of teams like Wazito, Mathare United, Tusker and even Leopards,” Oliech was quoted by K24.
Leopards chairman Dan Shikanda is open to welcoming Oliech at AFC.
However, he noted that wage demands will be a key priority before signing the former Harambee Stars player.
“A club can sign anyone. We are looking at a number of options and he is among the players now available in the market. We hope to have finalised our list by tomorrow (today) afternoon when the transfer window closes,” Shikanda told K24.
