Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui on Tuesday met Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala at the CS' office in Nairobi.
According to the county boss, their discussion revolved around matters development, among them the Tourism Ministry's plans to establish a tourism college in the county.
The two leaders also deliberated on collaboration to better the tourism sector in Nakuru which boasts of some of the most popular tourist spots in the Nation, including the Lake Nakuru National Park.
He said that the CS reiterated his ministry's readiness to be part of the growing tourism industry in the county.
"The hospitality industry is growing in the county and to meet demands in the sector, the Ministry of Tourism is planning to open a branch of Kenya Utalii College in Nakuru. I met with Tourism CS Najib Balala in his office today and he reiterated his support for the sector in the region," said the governor in a Facebook post.
The county boss added that they also discussed the ongoing attempt to downgrade Naivasha, which the CS said he is already working on.
The meeting also saw the first-term governor leave the CS's office with a Sh300 million allocation towards construction of a waterfront at Lake Naivasha.
"We had also lobbied for the construction of a waterfront at Lake Naivasha and Sh300 million has been allocated for the same," he added.
