Political analyst Prof Edward Kisiangani has appealed to President Uhuru Kenyatta to terminate the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) proceedings.
Kisiangani appeared to suggest that the BBI had created wrangles that were standing in the way of uniting the country.
"If our President gets some time out of his busy schedule to read my tweet, this is my advise n (sic) proposal: Please terminate further proceedings on BBI n (sic) undertake to fully implement the 2010 constitution. This will end present wrangles n unite our country, " the Kenyatta University don tweeted on Sunday.
President Uhuru launched the BBI report last week on Wednesday at the Bomas of Kenya.
Politicians have been trading strong words since the launch over how the game-changing report should be adopted going forward.
A section of politicians wants the report to be taken to Parliament for debate and possible adoption, saying that a referendum will be wasteful.
Those in favour of a referendum contend that it is the only way that Kenyans can own the document.
ODM boss Raila Odinga, a chief exponent of the BBI has opposed the document be taken to members of parliament calling for a referendum.
Kenyans have also been urged to read the report with an open mind before deciding whether to back or oppose it.
