On Tuesday, President Uhuru Kenyatta exercised his constitutional obligation to reorganize his cabinet without any external influence.
In the reshuffle, President Uhuru sacked Mwangi Kiunjuri from cabinet, triggering mixed reactions from members of the public.
However, a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto now says Uhuru's appointments should not be questioned by anyone.
Mr Alfa Miruka, the Bomachoge Chache MP said Uhuru is exercising his duties as the head of state.
"The President is the appointing authority of the Cabinet Secretaries and he has the authority to make reshuffles or even sack others," he said.
"It is important to note that the President, in discharging such duties, does not need to consult or talk to anyone."
Mr. Miruka, a key ally of Dr Ruto in the expansive Gusii region, said the president doesn't have to please anyone when making appointments.
"Actually Kenyatta doesn't need to please anyone when making government or cabinet appointments," he added.
When making changes on Tuesday, Dr Ruto was not in the country, with sources saying that he had traveled to Sudan.
It's not clear what the DP had gone to execute in the North Africa country.
