Speaking after the memorial service at the All Saints Cathedral, Mutua said that Collymore was indeed a great man.

The county boss said that Collymore served Kenyans with all his heart and mind, adding that he contributed to the development of this country including Machakos County before his death.

"I remember Bob Collymore because of his great deeds. We used to partner with him in Machakos quite well. In Machakos, Safaricom is constructing a mall called Crystal. We worked with him and have different industries belonging to Safaricom in Machakos but what matters most is that he was dedicated to serving the public. He also never engaged in cheap politics (Namkumbuka Bob Collymore kwa yale mambo ambayo amefanya. Tulikuwa tunashirikiana naye vizuri kule Machakos wanajenga mall kubwa pale Machakos inaitwa Crystal. Na tumefanya kazi pamoja na yeye. Tuko na viwanda kadha vya Safaricom huko Machakos pia. Lakini jambo la muhimu ni kwamba yeye alijitokeza kuhudumia wananchi si kuongea tu kuhusu wananchi. Na alikuwa pia hataki mambo ya siasa duni,” said Mutua.

Bob Collymore died on Monday after a long battle with cancer.
