Nominated MP David Ole Sankok has claimed that Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi is the new opposition chief.
In an interview on Radio Jambo on Wednesday, he claimed that the new opposition party is ANC, which he claimed has been in the front line in keeping the government in check.
This he said while dismissing ODM which has for a long time been seen as the vocal and powerful opposition party in Kenya.
"Official opposition party ile tunajua kwa sasa ni ANC (the official opposition party we know is ANC). They should now take their position very seriously," he said on Wednesday night.
On the other hand, he dismissed ODM as an amorphous party which has lost direction and no longer stands for anything.
"The other one (ODM) is an amorphous NGO without a direction. They have been said they are going to Canaan but have discovered there is no country with that name (Ile ingine is an amorphous NGO without a direction. Wamekuwa wakisema wanaenda Canaan wakapata hakuna nchi inaitwa Canaan,)" he added.
However, in a quick rejoinder, ODM Director of Communications Philip Etale, who was also present took issues with the remarks, demanding an apology on behalf of ODM supporters.
He hit out at Sankok for demeaning a duly registered political party, jokingly warning that the party will block any attempt to nominate him to any state position in the future.
