According to the area assistant chief, the deceased who he did not want to mention his name hails from Magenche ward.
Kisii assistant police commander Caleb Matoke also confirmed the accident saying the deceased body has been moved to Kenyenya hospital morgue.
"The car driver could not survive the accident. Police officers from Kenyenya police station rushed to the scene and moved the body to Kenyenya hospital morgue," Matoke noted.
He has appealed to motorists to drive at recommended speed especially during this time the region is experiencing rains which makes roads slippery.
The commander noted that the driver of the car was driving at a high-speed, something he said led to the early morning accident.
