Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula has urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to ensure the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) is implemented faster.
Addressing the media in Bungoma on Sunday, Wetangula said a road map on BBI implementation should be developed before the next Easter holiday.
He said failure to do so, the BBI process could be politicised, as the country draws nearer to the next electioneering period.
“I want to encourage the president as the top leader in the country and all of us involved in the leadership to find mechanisms of seeing that the implementation of the BBI report, doesn’t go beyond Easter 2020.
"So that, by the end of March, April, we should have a road map from whether there are technical teams or any other interested parties, to lay down the road map so that the BBI implementation does not drag into the succession politics that are likely to set in by the end of 2020," he said.
The remarks come a few days after Uhuru announced the extension of the BBI task-force's tenure.
