Ruto has since made it clear that he will be seeking to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta but has also urged politicians to cease politicking and focus on serving Kenyans.

Speaking on Wednesday, Weda noted that the DP has a number of positive traits which could make it easy for him to win the seat, among them his eloquence.

He stated that the DP has also mastered the art of consistency in his policies and remarks, which has seen him end up winning the trust and belief of Kenyans, in addition to his money.

He added that the DP has managed to make Kenyans relate to some of his tribulations, for instance, his hustler narrative, which will easily hand him the majority poor Kenyans' vote.

"Ruto is eloquent and he has the money. He also keeps repeating what he says to an extent that people are adopting his ideologies," he said on KBC English Service's The Big Conversation.

The lawyer observed that Kenyans should not mistake Ruto's national trips for development-based tours, opining that he has officially kicked off his campaigns ahead of time.

According to the commentator, the DP has decided to proceed with his campaigns despite warnings from President Uhuru.

"He is on the campaign trail. He has decided that whatever happens let it be," he said, only days after the DP concluded his five-day tour of the Coastal region.

However, Ruto has since denied claims that he is campaigning, though his allies have at times been seen endorsing him in his presence, he has not been keen on telling them off.
