Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula has asked President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Amolo Odinga to release the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report with immediate effect.
In a video shared by Daily Nation on Saturday, Wetangula wondered why the report is yet to be released months after the initiative was unveiled.
He said that Raila and Uhuru could be hiding something from Kenyans. He said that he fully the handshake between the two leaders and he doesn’t want the country to sink.
"Uhuru and Raila had a handshake. They said that they came together to unite all Kenyans. We accept because we do not want to see a divided nation.We have heard that the BBI report is ready (Rais Kenyatta na Raila Odinga walisalimia na wakasema wanaleta Wakenya pamoja. Sisi tukakubali sababu tunataka Wakenya waungane. Tunasikia ripoti ya BBI imetoka.), " said the Bungoma senator.
"Right now when you look around you only see abusive language. Politicians have been assembled there is TangaTanga and Kieleweka. Others have said that they will traverse the nation until they are heard, we want the nation to be united. Make the report public once you receive the same. make it public let’s stop speculations, let’s stop dividing people because you shook hands with Raila (Na ukiangalia sasa ni matusi tu. Watu wamekusanya watu wanaitwa Tangatanga wengine wanaitwa eleweka. Wengine wanasema watangatanga mpaka waeleweke. Sisi tunataka nchi isimame pamoja na raisi Uhuru, pokea hiyo ripoti, make it public lets stop speculations, lets stop dividing people because you shook hands with Raila),” he added.
On Friday, Uhuru met leaders from Mt Kenya at the Sagana lodge ahead of the tension in the region. He asked the leaders to back the BBI report before it is released. He also said that he committed to the attainment of the Big Four Agenda. Uhuru also said that he has not promised to endorse Raila at the expense f DP Ruto.
