A Jubilee Party politician based in Kisii County has welcomed an order issued by Interior CS Dr Fred Matiang'i to bar owners during the census exercise.
Isaac Motari who doubles up as Kisii County Jubilee Party Youth Secretary-General on Wednesday while speaking at Gesero market termed Matiang' i order as timely.
He said Kenyans should remain in their houses to be counted.
"I want to support Matiang'i for issuing orders restraining bars from opening during the census period. Every Kenyan must be counted, therefore, those fond of spending nights in bars during the weekends will have no option rather than remaining in their houses to be counted," said Motari.
The youthful politician reiterated the need for police officers to take the orders seriously and ensure they implement them.
"The government must know the total number of people in the country for future planning. Police should be up to the task to ensure no bar is opening during the census exercise," he stated.
He urged residents of Kisii County to participate in the exercise so that the county can get enough resource allocation from the national government.
