Residents of Narok are searching for the body of a mechanic who fell and drowned in Narok River during a confrontation with his colleague.
The two are alleged to have been fighting at the bank of the river when they fell into the water.
Area Sub-County Police Commander Joseph Kisombene confirmed that one of the mechanics, however, managed to survive.
"It was reported that the two fought and in the event they threw themselves into the river. One of them drowned while the other survived," Kisombene stated.
The survivor was apprehended and escorted to the police station where he recorded a statement.
The police commander added that the search for the body had been launched.
"Police are working with the locals and we have even engaged the services of divers in a bid to retrieve the body," he noted.
The incident of the two mechanics comes shortly after the body of a boda boda operator who had been swept by water while attempting to cross river Ololung'a river in Narok South sub-county was found at the banks of the river.
