The administration of Moi Girls High school Eldoret led by the deputy principal Henry Kipng'ok has revealed why the school posted exemplary results in the 2019 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results.
In the results which were released on Wednesday by Education Cabinet Secretary Professor George Magoha, the school was ranked at position ten among the schools which had the highest number of As in the country.
Speaking exclusively to the Standard after leading the celebrations which took over the Eldoret based institution immediately after the results were made public, Mr Kipng'ok said that early clearing of the syllabus and mentoring the candidates greatly contributed to the good results.
"The school was determined to produce great results this year. First, we cleared our syllabus early before we deployed another strategy of mentoring our girls. And because of that, we are happy with the results. Each of our candidates had a mentor who ensured that they performed well in different subjects," Mr Kipng'ok said.
Out of the 351 registered candidates this year, 21 managed to scored straight As which is an improvement from 14 As recorded last year.
The school has over the past years managed to beat other traditional academic giants and secured a good position in the country's best performing secondary schools.
