Former Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire says he feels vindicated following the arrest of Treasury CS Henry Rotich over Sh21 billion meant for construction of Arror and Kimwarer dams.
Mr Rotich is set to be arraigned in court on Tuesday, a move that would lead to his sacking by President Uhuru Kenyatta according to media reports.
Earlier, Mr Bosire, who doubles as treasurer in Raila Odinga's Orange Democratic Movement party, said he had warned of such scenarios when the government detained him in 2016.
"Truth will set everyone free and in the end some of us will be vindicated, as we stood firm through the challenges of Nation building
"While serving humbly as MP, we fought against corruption, raised our voice loud enough, detained, called all manner of names, but I'm happy as the moment of truth is here and now , feeling vindicated," he had said.
In a phone interview on Monday, Bosire said the rot in government is orchastrated at the treasury, adding that prosecution of Rotich and PS Kamau Thugge was welcome.
According to him, he has been asking for resignation of the two for a long time, adding that Monday's developments were good for the economy of the nation.
"I have said often that corruption is facilitated at the treasury. This arrest has vindicated me and I feel a free man. It's impossible for fraud to take place without knowledge of Treasury people," he noted.
Further, he argued, DCI should also pursue other corruption cases by investigating Treasury which he maintains that has been robbing poor Kenyans.
In 90s, Bosire served as a senior Economist at Treasury and he is regarded as an insider. He dismissed claims that the arrests will interfere with stock market.
