In a rant on his social media page, Sonko accused Standard Group of thriving on propaganda, as a marketing tool to promote their newspaper.

"Githeri Media propaganda they must sell newspapers using Sonko's name. Because today is Sunday, we trust in God, and his holy word will prevail. (Lazima wauze gazeti na jina la Sonko. Lakini kwa sababu ni Jumapili tumwani Mungu na neno lake takatifu litasimama)," Sonko posted on Facebook.

Sonko was arrested over a week ago, over claims of misappropriation of county funds.

The flamboyant county boss was arraigned in court on Monday and charged with 19 counts of corruption.

He was on Wednesday released on a Sh15 million cash bail, but barred from accessing his office.

The court ruling has since left the city county starring on a brink of crisis, as there is no deputy governor to take over from Sonko, until the case against him is heard and determined.

This comes even as Nairobi MCAs held a meeting on Saturday planning to move an impeachment motion against the embattled county boss.
