According to Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Abdirisack Jaldesa, this will ensure exams are done in a conducive environment without any interference.

“We have deployed 1,500 police officers in the 710 examination centers in the county where each center will at least have two police officers,” he said.

Jaldesa spoke to the press in his office on Monday, where he said preparations for KCPE are complete and exams will start on Tuesday at 8:00 am.

“Examination centers are now security zones and we will not allow anyone near the school unless you are a police officer, invigilator or a teacher. Any other person should stay 200 meters away from the school,” He noted.

On matters logistics, Jaldesa said they have enough vehicles which will be used to ferry the exams from the containers to respective schools in the county.

He urged parents to give their children humble time while they are sitting for their examination, since any disturbance might lead to poor performance.

Uasin Gishu county has 26,043 pupils who will sit for the 2019 KCPE in 710 examination centers.
