The controversy around Kriss Darling's kneeling gesture at Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga continued apace on Sunday.
Speaking during a panel discussion on KTN, analyst Hesbon Owilla contended that the MC demeaned not only himself by kneeling down, but also Odinga to whom the gesture was intended.
Owilla also took issue with ODM's decision to entertain individuals who were against the party in the last general elections, a reference to Kriss Darling who openly threw his star power behind the presidential ambition of Uhuru Kenyatta.
"I expected ODM to parade members of ODM. Not people who in the last election were doing certain things to certain political formations then all of a sudden are kneeling to a human being, demeaning themselves and demeaning Raila Odinga because I don't think Raila Odinga asked for that, " he said in a video shared by KTN on Twitter. The analyst said the fact that Darling engaged in that controversial gesture showed that the MC could do just about anything to become the next Kibra Member of Parliament.
Footage showing the Kibra parliamentary aspirant kneeling down went viral, roiling social media platforms for days on end.
Kriss Darling defended his action saying that it was in recognition of the unparalleled influenced that Odinga wields in Kibra.
