Speaking at Timau Stadium in Meru County on Sunday, Rigathi said that Kenyans are actually suffering from dishonest leaders and not the supreme law as is being claimed.

He added that Kenya will be a better place once leaders begin accepting the outcome of elections, in a thinly veiled shot at Raila Odinga who has been pushing for the changes.

"Our problems are not related to the current Constitution. Kenyans are suffering because of dishonest leaders,” said the leader who is closely allied to Deputy President William Ruto.

He spoke in the company of MPs Mugambi Rindiki (Buura), Catherine Waruguru (Laikipia), Jayne Kihara (Naivasha), Halima Mucheke (Nominated).

In support of Gachagua's remarks, Kihara pointed out that some leaders have been banking on conman ship and politics of hatred to make it, which she noted is unfortunate.

“We cannot always use conmanship, ethnicity and hatred to get power. Kenya is past that,” she said.

Her comments were echoed by the remaining leaders who called upon Kenyans to side with politicians who are bent on making Kenya better.

They added that they will remain fully behind President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto in their development agenda, calling upon Kenyans to carefully select their leadership.
