Political analyst Prof Edward Kisiang'ani has said that Deputy President William Ruto has become more popular in the Western region.
Speaking during an interview with K24 on Sunday, Kisiang'ani said that the recent twist of events clearly shows that Ruto is a force to reckon with in the Western region. He argued that Ruto has made inroads in the Western region.
The analyst noted that Ruto has become stronger and can give his contenders a run for their money in the event that an election is held today.
He also said that the ODM, which controlled the region, is now struggling to outdo Ruto in the region. He argued that the popularity of ODM leader Raila Odinga has been reducing in the recent past after Ruto decided to raid the Western region ahead of the 2022 general elections.
"ODM is desperate campaigning against Ruto in Western Kenya because the DP has made proper inroads in the Luhya nation," he said.
