Harambee stars midfielder Johanna Omolo has won FIFPro merit award of the year 2019 for his charitable community work based in Dandora Nairobi.
The sportsman's initiative dubbed 'Johanna Omolo Foundation' supports the vulnerable kids, nurturing youths talents, educating the needful children and providing of pads to school going children.
The Kenya footballers welfare association KEFWA officials received the award on behalf of Omolo in Sydney during Annual General Assembly who was committed on international duties in Egypt.
"Delighted to announce that Omolo foundation was last night awarded as FIFPro 2019 merit award winner.I am taking this opportunity to thank Omolo foundation team for their zeal and resilience to chachanjinhg the lives of less fortunate kids in Dandora" tweeted Omolo.
The 30 year old midfielder has just won the global award alongside 2.5 million after 24 year old the Awer Mabil of Austrilia won it last year.
Belgian side Cercle Brugge midfielder, Johanna Omolo foundation which was founded in 2017 it's main objective being to motivate Dandora children to become winners not only in soccer field but also in art and community service education.
