Addressing the media, KUSU through its Secretary General Charles Mukhwaya noted that the VC is not fit to lead the university following the accusations made against her.

Mukhwaya further noted that Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha should move with speed and take action.

“She has to step out. She is a public officer and pursuant to the provisions of the Article 6 of the constitution of Kenya as a public officer and matters to do with integrity, she has lost it. She needs to step aside for investigations to be carried out. If she is not found guilty perhaps then she can get back,” Mukhwaya said as quoted by Capital FM.

Mukhwaya's remarks came just a day after Citizen TV ran an expose on the looting of public resources at the institution.

The expose dubbed "The Mara Heist" put the university's management on the spot over allegation of misappropriation of hundreds of millions meant for development and other tasks.
