Deputy President William Ruto has expressed his dissatisfaction following the Kitui BBI meeting violence on Saturday.

Mr Ruto stated that there is way peace would be found through violence, noting that it was right for every Kenyan to be given an ear as pertaining BBI. 

"It is not time for brainwashing, bravado and positioning, that only help to create division," stated the DP. He called upon all politicians to uphold peace, instead ending politics marred by tribalism and divisions. 

"Let us carry out this debate with respect. There are no views better than others. Let all be given an opportunity to speak," Ruto added. 

Joash Maangi, Kisii Deputy County boss together with MPs Silvanus Osoro and Alpha Miruka, promised Ruto of their allegiance, when they were receiving him during his Sunday tour.

MPs affiliated to DP Ruto were reportedly barred from the main dias in the Kitui BBI meeting on Saturday. They also were alleged to have been harassed by people who had been hired. 

Tangatanga associated leaders led by Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot () were reported mishandled and forced out of the meeting.

The situation was intervened by Machakos Town MP Victor Munyaka and his Kitui East colleague Nimrod, who urged dignified treatment for their colleagues, lest they trigger mass protest. 

Hon. Aaron Cheruiyot lamented the ill-treatment, stating that such was unfortunate for a unity crusade meeting.
