It all started when the politician, who has vowed to stand with Deputy President William Ruto in 2022, launched an attack against ODM leader Raila Odinga.

In a short video shared by Daily Nation, the senator retorted that Raila has been fighting Mariga as he seeks to succeed the late Ken Okoth.

The remarks of the politician did not augur well with the youths who started heckling at him.

He claimed that Raila had developed the habit of fighting the Luhya community.

He narrated that he started by fighting late Vice President Kijana Wamalwa and now has taken the same to the next level by seeking to block Mariga from Kibra.

"When Michael Wamalwa Kijana died, " he is heard saying before his speech was cut short  (Wakati Michael Kijana Wamalwa alikufa)

Khalwale alluded that Mariga remains the best bet for the people of Kibra even if he is fought from all corners. He also said that Mariga will be the next MP for the area whether Raila likes it or not.

"If someone was fighting Michael Kijana Wamalwa then he should know that Mariga is a young politician. Mariga does not deserve being fought against by that veteran politician. I want to tell Odinga that Mariga is going to be our MP whether you like it or not” he said.
