Normal academic programs have continued to be paralyzed at Moi University main campus in Kesses after students staged demonstrations on 11th October this year.
As a result, the University's administration closed the institution and it has now announced that students in the second and third year of study will resume their studies in January 2020.
This announcement comes after the students in the other years of study were allowed back to school.
In a memo shared on the University's twitter account on Thursday morning, the university advised the students in the second and third year to keep off the institution's premises.
"In a special meeting of Moi University senate held on Wednesday 30th October 2019, it was resolved that all 2nd and 3rd year students in the main campus will resume lectures in January 2020 at a date to be communicated," reads part of the memo.
The unrest also led to the expulsion of some of the members of Moi University Students Organization (MUSO) who were accused of organizing and leading the other students in the demonstration which the university had declared illegal.
The expelled students led by MUSO Chairman Timothy Kemboi and Secretary-General Ian Rasueei have vowed to challenge the institution's decision in a court of law.
