Governor Hasan Joho has addressed the unfortunate event at the Kongowea Market in Nyali Sub-county, where stalls were razed down by a huge fire.
In a tweet on Sunday, Mombasa County boss promised that the County government is going to reconstruct the stalls immediately, through the department of Trade and Investment.
Also, Governor Joho said that after the installation of the stalls, the county will ensure that the affected businessmen will be brought back to the business.
"This morning a huge fire razed down stalls at the Kongowea Market in Nyali Sub-county. The County Government of Mombasa through the department of Trade and Investment will immediately reconstruct the stalls and help those affected to get back to business," Governor Joho said.
The incident happened early in the morning on Sunday where the report was posted by Red cross on their official twitter page.
"Fire incident reported at Kongowea Market, Mombasa. Response teams en route to the scene" read Kenya Red Cross''s tweet.
According to a reporter, the firefighters at the scene ran out of water, and that resulted to further spreading of the fire.
"Fire at Kongowea market Mombasa! Firefighters ran out of water hence the fire is spreading at an alarming speed!" he captioned the short video clip.
