The BBI team handed over the report to President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga last month, with the two hinting at further changes.

While the report recommended the introduction of a weak Prime Minister, Duale now says changes will be done to shift to the Parliamentary system.

According to him, only change of governance was omitted, adding that Uhuru may have finally heard his cry and those pushing for changes in the system.

"The only thing the BBI report left out was the inclusion of change of governance structure from a presidential to a parliamentary system," he told the Sunday Nation.

"I think the President must have heard the cries of the proponents of the parliamentary system, both from inside his party, led by me, and outside our party, led by his handshake partner Raila Odinga," Duale added.

Despite being in Deputy President William Ruto's camp, Duale has endorsed parliamentary system of government which he believes will be a cure to contested presidential polls.

The Garissa Town MP also believes the Parliamentary system will give chances to small tribes in the country's leadership.

From January, BBI will be collecting views on how to better the document, with the powerful Prime Minister post set to be recommended by the team.
