Lawyer Miguna Miguna has bashed President Uhuru Kenyatta following the appointment of Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka as Special Envoy to the Republic of South Sudan.
The President appointed Kalonzo as his special envoy to the youngest nation in Africa to steer Kenya’s pursuit of lasting peace and security in South Sudan and in the region, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.
“His Excellency Uhuru Kenyatta, President of the Republic of Kenya has appointed Dr Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, the former Vice President as his Special Envoy to the Republic of South Sudan. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs congratulates Dr Kalozo Musyoka on his appointment and stands ready to support the Special Envoy in the delivery of his mandate,” read the letter dated July 2.
Reacting to the appointment, Miguna accused Uhuru of creating jobs for retirees instead of the millions of jobless youth in the country.
"Despot Uhuru Kenyatta cannot create jobs for the millions of unemployed youth wallowing in poverty because he is busy creating political sinecures for castrated retirees like Moody Awori, Francis Muthaura, Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Michael Joseph," Miguna posted.
Kalonzo's appointment comes seven months after he offered to be President Kenyatta's 'mtu wa mkono' (errand boy).
"From today, let no one separate me and my brother Uhuru. I have accepted to run his errands. Those who will attempt to interfere will see my other side," the former Vice President said during the burial of his father, Mzee Peter Musyoka Mairu, in November last year.
