Matiang'i arrived at Nyanturago secondary playing grounds at 1:40 pm where the last send-off of the ex-MP is currently underway.

The Cabinet Secretary was accompanied by Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Momoima Onyonka.

Politics is expected at the burial function given the heated political temperatures as a section of leaders from Kisii and Nyamira counties have ganged up to back Matiang'i to run for the presidency while other leaders led by South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro are opposed to Matiang'i's presidential ambition.

According to Osoro, Matiang'i has not done enough for the Gusii community to be supported for the country's top seat.

The late MP Manduku died on the night of Saturday, 10th August 2019 at The Nairobi Hospital where was receiving treatment.

He died aged 79 after battling a terminal illness for a long time.

Several leaders among them Kisii Governor James Ongwae, Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi, Nyaribari Chache MP Richard Tong'i among others mourned Manduku as a visionary leader who served the people of Nyaribari Masaba diligently and selflessly.
