On Friday, through lawyer Cliff Ombeta, Gabrielle and Bernard Cohen said that Wairimu doesn’t deserve freedom until the matter is settled.

The family raised concern over her release, saying that she could interfere with evidence in the case.  The in-laws said that the accused is better off if she lived behind bars.

They asked the court to ensure she remains at Lang’ata Womens Prison until the killers are brought to book. Ombeta said that Sarah is a dangerous woman, adding that she doesn’t deserve freedom at all.

“She is better of where she is now, she has no home …Keep her in custody…If the body was found at their home, then she is a dangerous person,” Ombeta submitted.

He said that it will be justice on trial if Wairimu is allowed to walk scot-free from the court after the death of the businessman.

Ombeta also said that Wairimu has attempted to interfere with the witnesses in the murder probe, adding that the court would have risked lives of many if she is granted freedom.

It was also revealed that during the hearing, the Prosecution will make an application to the court so as to visit the scene of the crime.

Wairimu through lawyer Philip Murgor has insisted that she is innocent.
