This is after local leaders and irate residents denied him a chance to speak to them.

Mr Kaparo had gone to Kisumu county in the wake of the latest clashes among the Luo and Nandi communities along the Kisumu-Nandi border.

Kaparo had sought to dialogue with local leaders, security agents and residents to find a lasting solution to the clashes.

Signs of his efforts failing were evident the very point he stepped foot at Kupere market one of the most affected centers following the recent clashes.

When the peace meeting had just began residents claimed of imminent attacks by the gang accused of stealing livestock and carrying a range of attacks in the area.

Attempts by Kaparo to play down the possibility of the attacks seemed to ache the already charged crowd.

"Nobody is coming to attack them when you are here" Kaparo said.

However before he continued he was shut down by the bitter crowd who did not want to hear anything.

When calm was restored, locals called on the government to employ all legal means to permanently stop the clashes.

They also want security officers deployed in the area be transferred for failure of decisively dealing with cattle theft menace.

"Let other new people come and we try them, we have no problem with anybody " Joseph Abuko a pastor who was attending the meeting lamented.

Kaparo then proceeded to Sunkok village for another peace baraza. Here he was met with local leaders who denied him a chance to address wananchi who had gathered for the peace meeting.

"We cannot have this meeting" the local leaders shouted in chorus.

Nyando MP Fred Outa and his Muhoroni counterpart James Onyango Koyoo castigated the security agents for laxity even as the clashes threatened to spill out of hand.

The leaders accused the police for working closely with the attackers to perpetuate the clashes.

Efforts by Kaparo to address the charged crowd hit a snag leaving him with no option but to leave the venue without accomplishing what had brought him all the way from Nairobi.

At least three people have been killed and six others seriously injured in the latest clashes triggered by cattle theft.
