Waruguru stormed the church in the company of a group of youths as nominated MP Maina Kamanda was addressing the worshippers, before being kicked out by presiding priest and diocese Bishop Ndirangu Ngunjiri.

The Bishop on Monday demanded that she tenders an apology to God and the diocese, failure to which she might land a curse.

He added that he sent her and her supporters away to avoid a clash similar to the one that had been seen at the Gitui Catholic Church in Kiharu, pitting Kamanda and Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro the previous Sunday.

"We were shocked to see Laikipia Woman Representative storm the church with the intention of disrupting the service in the company of goons. They started shouting "mama yetu" (our mother)," said the priest.

Waruguru stormed the service when Kamanda was urging area residents to support President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga-led Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

Speaking after the incident, she accused Kamanda of habitually insulting fellow leaders, including those from Laikipia for supporting Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential intentions.

“He tried to harass (Ndindi) Nyoro and now he has come to Laikipia to intimidate us. He should stick to Nairobi politics,” she said.

In the initial scenario pitting Kamanda and Nyoro, the youthful Nyoro found himself in trouble and was arrested a day later, before he on Sunday apologized for the scuffle.
