Panic is rife in Nakuru's Flamingo Estate after a group of armed men stormed the estate on Wednesday night and injured several residents.

According to police reports, a gang of about 50 people wielding Machetes attacked the estate in the wee hours and started beating people. Police said the suspects did not steal anything from those attacked.

“It is suspected they are members of the Mungiki sect as there was leaflets earlier warning of an impending attack,” a police source at Bondeni said.

Impeccable sources at the police station said preliminary investigations point to a gang roaming Rhonda estate.

“We are very shocked here. The gang is dangerous and often brutal,” Philomena Achieng said.

Head of Administration Police Operations in Nakuru Barnabas Kimutai, said police have manged to arrest several suspects.
