Lawyer Miguna Miguna has questioned Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and police for taking too long to arrest Kisumu Governor Peter Anyang' Nyong'o and his sister Risper Nyagoy following a directive from the High Court.
The duo is being sought over contempt of court in a property row with the relatives.
Miguna has asked why the detectives cannot trace the governor yet they often take a short period to arrest and jail petty criminals.
Miguna, who has been vocal on matters of national interest since he was deported, said that he is reading something fishy as far as the case is concerned.
"The @PoliceKE and @DCI_Kenya "officers" cannot locate Peter Anyang' Nyong'o and his sister in order to effect an arrest for contempt of court. In Kenya, a chicken thief or a starving citizen who helped himself to a loaf of bread would be sentenced to death already," he tweeted.
On Saturday,Kisumu County Commander Benson Maweu said that the police have already been positioned at strategic places to ensure the governor is arrested.
He revealed that the first term governor is in Nakuru but assured journalists that he will be arrested following the directive.
"The governor is in Nakuru, but I have placed my officers in strategic points ready to execute the order," Maweu told the Nation.
