Jointly accused with KRA chairman Francis Muthaura and former Police Commissioner Maj Gen Hussein Ali, the three sourced for local defense team.

Apparently, there three lawyers had one thing in common; all of them hailed from Nyamira County in South Nyanza, and some of them would later on be rewarded.

On Monday, nomination of city lawyer Otachi Bw'Omanwa marked yet another reward for loyalty, having helped the president have his ICC cases ended.

Mr Otachi now waits for approval by National Assembly to take over National Lands Commission, an important body that helps fix unending land cases.

Last yet, Uhuru appointed Ken Ogeto, another ICC lawyer as Solicitor General. Mr Ogeto replaced Njee Muturi, another confidant of Uhuru.

In a past interview, Ogeto, who hails from Borabu constituency, denied claims that he was rewarded due to his ICC services for President Uhuru Kenyatta.

"My appointment as Solicitor General had nothing to do with my role as defence counsel for the president at the ICC. The procedure for the appointment of the Solicitor General is set out at Section 9 of the Office of the Attorney General Act.

"The law prescribes the qualifications that one must have. The qualifications are that the person is qualified to hold the office of judge of a superior court under the Constitution; and that the person meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution," he had said.

And Mr Evans Monari, who hails from Kitutu Masaba, is the third lawyer who worked in Uhuru's legal team. The soft spoken lawyer prefers private life.

He is the cousin to Nyamira Health Minister Douglas Bosire. At home, Monari plays integral role in boardroom political deals and is not stranger to politicians.
