Lawyer Nelson Havi has said that the woes of the Kiambu Governor Ferdinard Waititu is something planned.
In an interview on Tuesday on Citizen TV, Havi said that he was shocked with the swift manner in which the Deputy Governor James Nyoro assumed office in the acting capacity after the boss was barred from the same.
Havi said that it took less than 5 hours and the DG had already declared he is in charge as Waititu and his Wife Susan Ndung'u fight graft claims in Sh 588 million saga.
" I feel that this is a court facilitated coup. If anything, it was not even 5 hours later before DG Nyoro assumed power. We can see the pandemonium that is likely to ensue," he said.
He also said that the governor still has the mandate to carry out his duties as expected by the people who elected him into office. He also said that blocking the governor from his office doesn't mean he is no longer in charge of Kiambu county anymore
"The decision by the Magistrate does not stop Waititu from carrying out his functions as a governor but has stopped him from accessing his office," he added.
Speaking at the county offices after Waititu was asked to stay away from the offices, Nyoro said he is fully in charge.
“I am now in charge and the CECs and all county officials are ready to work with me. At this point, we are not talking about making changes, but we will work together as a team,” he said, as quoted by Capital FM.
