Deputy President William Ruto has always tried to remain fit not only in the political field but also physically. But the move to start working out in the gym is one that has a whole story behind it.

At one time during an interview with Citizen TV, when he was the member of parliament for Eldoret, Ruto revealed details of his work out routines.

“I decided to do the gym when I realized that my weight was getting out of hand. And I was doing 99 Kilograms and for my weigh I was told that was way off the mark,” Ruto stated.

William Ruto also cited an incident which had pushed him into the gym.

“A specific incident, when I had gone to western Kenya to inspect the problems with the sugar and a photograph was taken and it showed me in very bad shape with my tummy protruding. So a friend called me the next day and told men, you doing badly,” the then Eldoret MP narrated.

Years later, it still remains unclear if the popular politician is still loyal to his workout routines. He has however participated in Marathons with a good example being in the Beyond Zero Campaign.
