Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula says his quest to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta will not be sabotaged by any politician.
Speaking at West Mugirango on Friday, Wetangula said he's in the process of revamping Ford Kenya party before entering into any coalition agreements in future.
The Ford Kenya party leader said the party will hold competitive grassroots poll and winners will play a key role in mobilising for his support.
"I am experienced enough to lead the country. Before going to the polls, my main focus is on revamping the party. We have planned for grassroots poll," he said.
Wetangula added: "Thereafter, we shall popularise the party and form coalitions with willing partners. I will ask other friends to back my bid because I am capable."
Mr Wetangula urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to be in the front line by pushing for an all inclusive government, adding that minorities should be part of government.
The party's chair of elections board Janet Kumenda, who is eyeing Nyamira Woman Representative seat, said preparations for grassroots poll are over.
"We shall soon be announcing for exact dates. We expect people especially the youths to go for top posts. We are keen to strengthen the party," she said.
In Kisii and Nyamira, Ford Kenya managed West Mugirango seat through Vincent Kemosi and Kitutu Chache South slot through Richard Onyonka.
