Three men are nursing injuries at the Kikuyu Hospital after being involved in an accident today at the southern bypass in Kikuyu, Kiambu County. According to the OCPD, Mutune Maweu, the three were in an Isuzu lorry and they were overspeeding. He explained that the driver lost control and hit a bridge. Mutune said a pedestrian was hit and suffered injuries on his leg and back and the two who were in the lorry also suffered minor injuries.
The OCPD said that the driver was drunk while he was driving heading to Nairobi. The police boss said that the two who were in the lorry suffered minor injuries while the pedestrian was seriously injured. The three are nursing injuries at the hospital. According to an eyewitness, Francis Njenga, the lorry was in high speed and at some point it lost balance and started swaying.
He explained that it then went out of the road and hit a young man who was walking.
