Three suspected thieves were on Tuesday arrested for being in possession of stolen church equipment.

The suspects broke reportedly into Jesus Reigns church in Borabu Nyamira County on Monday night and stole a piano, mixer, 2 amplifier, and speakers. 

Timothy Mwasia, area police boss confirmed the incident and said the equipment were recovered hidden in one of the shops in Borabu.

He stated that the suspects will be arraigned in court on Thursday to be charged over theft.

“The suspects must be punished for stealing from the house of God. Anyone who is not working hard to eat from his or her sweat must be dealt with accordingly,” said the police boss. 

He assured that police officers are vigilant to end criminal dealings in the region.Mwasia noted that residents should not blame police force for increased crime because the security team is doing everything possible to ensure people’s lives and property I protected. 

 The church pastor Lamarck Oenga said it is through prayers that enabled police to arrest the culprits.

 “It was a shock we woke up to find thugs have broken into the church to steal. The security team should be commended for doing a good job to arrest the criminals,” said Oenga.
