Three people have been charged on four counts of obtaining goods valued at more than Sh81.9 million by pretending that the Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) were from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.
Martin Mwangi Njeri, Betty Wangui Nderitu alias Jennifer and Felix Kipyegon Langat denied charges of fraudulently obtaining 150 i phones and 327 laptops of HP and Lenovo i-core models on several dates between June and August this year.
The trio further faced charges on four counts of forgery and four counts of presenting false documents such as LPOs, which they intended to defraud by purporting that they were issued by a procurement officer from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.
The Prosecution applied for the matter to be mentioned on September 14 for the case to be consolidated with a similar case.
They were each granted a Sh1 million cash bail and a bond of Sh3 million with a surety of the similar amount.
