Before the meeting, a disgruntled Orengo warned that the decision by Raila to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta could severely dent his reputation.

And a source privy to the details of the secret meeting that was preceded by elections of Luo Council of Elders officials, intimates that Orengo tabled a host of urgent issues.

"It was a fruitful meeting. The senator asked Raila to ensure victims of post election violence are expeditiously compensated by the government.

"He also demanded that Raila negotiates Miguna Miguna's return besides pushing for total overhaul of the IEBC," said the source, who spoke in confidence.

Deportation of Miguna Miguna for the second time had irked Orengo, who was acting as his lawyer after top government officials failed to honour court summons.

In an interview on Tuesday with KTN News, a jovial Orengo insisted that the handshake would work adding that implementation was at design stage.
