3 people lost their lives and 5 others injured after a Saloon car and a passenger bus collided on Saturday dawn near Mtito Andei in Makueni County. The accident happened at around 4 in the morning.

The 3 were aboard the car and were headed towards Nairobi according to Mtito Andei Traffic Base Commander Julius Kiplimo who further confirmed the incident saying that the car driver was overtaking another vehicle before colliding with the oncoming Mombasa-bound bus.

"The driver of the saloon car and the two others died on the spot,” Mr Kiplimo told the Nation on phone.

According to the nation, the injured travelers were rushed to the Mtito Andei Hospital and the bodies taken to Makindu Hospital mortuary.
