Wilson Airport experienced disruptions for hours after an aircraft pilot was forced to land in the course of training.
Gilbert Kibe who is the director-general of the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority confirmed the landing mishap, saying that the aircraft was operated by the 99 Flying School in a statement to the press.
Mr. Kibe also confirmed that three people who were injured were quickly rushed to the hospital for specialised treatment.
The cause of the accident was not made clear in the statement.
The statement only indicated that investigations into the cause were underway and the public would be briefed accordingly in due course.
An employee of the Wilson Airport said when he arrived at the scene he heard a guy from the control tower saying that the incident was triggered by a power failure.
