Nairobi police bosses have released a list of roads to be closed on Tuesday during President Uhuru Kenyatta's swearing-in.

Speaking on Saturday, Nairobi County Commander Japheth Koome the roads will be closed due to security measures since high dignitaries will be attending the event.

The County Commander said that he has requested for reinforcements from Vigilance House because of Tuesday’s event saying that Mombasa Road, Uhuru Highway and Thika Road will be marked as “red zones”.

He confirmed that motorists will be unable to access the three roads.

“Because of security protocol the aforementioned roads will be marked as red zones. A red zone means an area with heavy deployment of police officers,” said the county commander.

Koome also urged motorists to avoid Ngong, Langata and Valley roads because of the Standard Chartered Marathon slated for Sunday November 26
