On Wednesday, ODM leader Raila Odinga revealed tribulations of Mr. Okello, a former radio presenter with Ramogi FM.

"Ben came to my office few weeks ago before he left for India. He was weak and frail a sign that he had bravely fought cancer," he said.

Raila further stated: "Cancer is now becoming a major killer in our country. We must now try to raise our game if at all we are ready to defeat it."

And last month, Baringo South MP Grace Kipchoim also succumbed to the killer disease after many months of struggle.

Just like Okello, Ms. Kipchoim hadly campaigned in August elections even though she would emerge the winner.

Former Minority Leader Francis Nyenze was the first to fall in 12th parliament after succumbing to liver cancer in December.

A report published by various local media houses revealed that at least 30 MPs are seeking treatment out of the country due to cancer.
