The unveiling of the National Super Alliance (NASA) line-up last week has continued to receive mixed reactions from various Western Kenya leaders. Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka now claims the Luhya community got a raw deal in the new opposition arrangement that unveiled ODM leader Raila Odinga as the flag bearer, with Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper) as his running mate.Lusaka said he is disappointed that Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetang’ula and Amani’s Musalia Mudavadi ‘only got imaginary positions’.“We, the Luhyas, were 40 percent of those in the NASA negotiations, yet we’ve got posts, not in the Constitution,” the governor said on Saturday. The Jubilee point man in the Western region accused MPs Eseli Simiyu (Tongaren), Chris Wamalwa (Kimilili) and Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale of letting the community down and told them to apologise and seek forgiveness.“We had three doctors; Simiyu, Wamalwa and Khalwale in the NASA negotiations, but could not ensure a better deal,” he lamented. The Governor added: “In 2002, Kijana Wamalwa was very bright when he went to negotiate and he said he wanted to be the Vice President. He was not like these two (Mudavadi and Wetang’ula), who don’t know what they want.”Under the NASA lineup, Mudavadi will be Premier Cabinet Secretary in charge of Government Coordination, in the event of an opposition victory. He will be deputised by Wetang’ula and Chama Cha Mashinani leader Isaac Ruto.
