Kenya is yet to hold another general election next year, 2017.
In preparation for the elections, politicians across the country are busy applying different strategies to secure various seats comes the voting period.
Cord headed by Raila Odinga is the main opposition party while Jubilee party, headed by President Uhuru Kenyatta is the ruling party.
Here, I present arguments which prove that Jubilee is the next winning party.
1. Rift Valley, Central and Western Provinces Unity
The unity of Kalenjins of Rift Valley, Kikuyus of Central Province and Luyhas of the Western (recently shown interest in joining Jubilee) provinces will shape the destiny of the Kenyan politics.
The three respectively form the largest population in Kenya and all have shown interest in working together under Jubilee administration. Combined with other votes from various parts of the country such as Nairobi, Jubilee has higher chances of winning.
2. Slow ‘break up’ of Cord
Cord, the main competitor of Jubilee, has recently broken up, slowly. There is a dilemma as who will be the next leader’s party.
Ababu Namwamba and Moses Watengula are some of the two party key leaders who have ditched the party, Watengula declaring the presidency using his own ANC party. There are speculations that Watengula is yet to officially join Jubilee.
This increases the chances of winning to the Jubilee party headed by Uhuru Kenyatta.
3. Jubilee leadership track records
While Cord is often criticising jubilee party for failing to deliver promises, it is evidence that they have worked well over the past four years. For example, rural electrification project and standard gauge railway are the best projects ever are done by any government.
Such development projects are likely to lure people in all walks of life to once again vote in Jubilee party.
