3 teenage boys were on Saturday afternoon arrested on a drinking spree in a hotel and bar restaurant at Karuri shopping center.
Speaking after the arrest, Jared Ongoto who is the Karuri AP post corporal noted that they had been ordered to conduct patrols in the area when information got to the office of Gatundu North commissioner that there were youths taking alcohol in the area.
Ongoto noted that the 3 boys are from different secondary schools in the area. He revealed that the teenagers aged between 16-17 from Nyamathumbi, Karuri and St Joseph the worker secondary schools were arrested taking a bottle of Jameson.3 school going boys were on Saturday afternoon arrested on a drinking spree in a hotel and bar restaurant at Karuri shopping center.
"We have after being ordered by Nyamiti our sub county boss arrested 3 boys who were taking alcohol from this hotel. After interrogation, they disclosed that they were lured into drinking by their uncle who gave them cash for the drink. They will remain in our cell until their parents come for them," said Ongoto.
He revealed that the children would be released after payment of Kshs. 5, 000 fine from each. Ongoto gave a warning to school going children to avoid being lured into alcoholism in the name of Christmas jubilation citing that their patrol will be extended to both day and night.
He assured parents of security in the area and urged them to develop good morals in their children to avert such incidences from occurring in the future.
