For example, you can fence your house and avoid the stress of having to deal with noisy neighbors. You can also have a home garden where you can pant some vegetables. The best thing about owning a house is that you do not have to pay rent every month. However, buying a land and constructing a house is very expensive.

Buying an already built house is even more expensive. Many Kenyans are therefore forced to rent houses. Becoming a tenant comes with a lot of challenges that can drive one crazy.

A punctual Caretaker

All tenants hate end months. It is the time they have to dig deep into their pockets to pay rent or face eviction. But what drove them crazy is the presence of a caretaker. Some caretakers come to collect rent as early as 28th. They will harass you and threaten you. But not all caretakers are bad though. If you are a lucky tenant, you can get a caretaker who is understanding.

Noisy neighbors

One of the worst thing that drive tenants crazy is noisy neighbors. There are some neighbors who cannot just shut up. If they are not quarreling and fighting the whole night, they are drinking and shouting the whole night. They do not care about other people. They feel entitled to do whatever they want. They even put loud music and invite friends to party the whole day and night.

Dirty toilets

Woe unto you if you live in a block of flats where people share bathrooms and toilets. While some are caring enough to flash and clean the toilet after use, some do not care. They use the toilet and leave it dirty. This really drive other tenants crazy. It is at this point that they wish they had their own houses. Even the bathrooms are sometimes left dirty. Many tenants of low and middle income are running to bedsitters and one or two bedroom houses where they have their own bathrooms and toilets.
